Monsanto’s Roundup Has Been Linked to Various Cancers

The herbicide Roundup has been in the news and in a lot of discussions lately.  Many people have been talking about it because they don’t feel chemicals should be used around our food.  Others are talking about it because there have been studies that show this chemical has been linked to a number of health problems.

Despite the fact that Roundup has been on the market since the 1970’s, there has been little to no government warning about the product for most of the time it has been sold.  Despite a number of studies that show otherwise, the Monsanto reps continue to claim that their product is entirely safe with no need for legislative action or limiting the use of their product.

For those who have worked with this product, they understand that their health problems are not entirely caused by random circumstances.  Have you worked with, or around, Roundup?  Have you developed cancer or another major medical illness?  Then we want to speak with you right away!  Call a Roundup attorney with Arentz Law Group P.C. today at 1-800-305-6000, or simply fill out the contact form on this page.

Is Roundup Dangerous to Humans?

Depending on who you ask, you will get two different answers to the question of whether or not Roundup is dangerous to humans.

If you read or talk to Monsanto, the company that makes this product, they will claim that there is no evidence that their product will cause any health problems as long as it is used correctly.  Their claims say that independent studies that find otherwise are nothing more than junk science.

However, you read those studies, you will see that careful reviews of the product, the use, and large test groups have shown that this chemical that is widely used on a lot of the food we eat is indeed dangerous.  Just how dangerous?  Studies have shown that Roundup can lead to a number of health problems including:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Birth Defects
  • Cancer
  • Celiac Disease
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Colitis
  • Depression
  • Diabetes
  • Various Illnesses and Diseases
  • Heart Disease
  • Hypothyroidism
  • IBS
  • Liver Disease
  • Reproductive Problems
  • And More

There are dozens of different health problems that are strongly correlated with those who have been heavily exposed to Roundup, or live in an area that see heavy Roundup use.

Have you worked with this dangerous chemical?  Have you been diagnosed with a serious illness or disease?  You don’t have to just take it!  You deserve justice, and the Roundup attorneys with Arentz Law are here to help.  Schedule your no obligation consultation by calling 1-800-305-6000.

Is There Roundup in our Food?

In recent years the idea of organic and non-gmo foods have exploded in popularity.  The reasoning is that people don’t want to have to worry about what is going on, or in, their food.  By consuming foods that have a full disclosure as to how they were grown, it takes the guess work out of buying healthy foods.

But for many people spending the extra money on non-gmo or organic foods is not an option.  And they are left wondering if there is Roundup (even trace amounts) left on the food.  The answer is: maybe.

Glyphosate, the chemical that is in Roundup used to kill plants, can be found in many different foods that you consume.  Here are two ways that Roundup is used and can end up being in the food that we eat.

There is a big controversy in how wheat is harvested.  The head of the wheat, where the grain is, dies off first.  But the plant can’t be harvested until the entire thing dies off.  After the head has died (and is theoretically no longer absorbing anything) the field is sprayed to hasten the rest of the plant along so the field can be harvested.  Trace amounts of glyphosate may remain after harvest.

Some plants are bred to be resistant to Roundup.  These genetically modified plants are grown in fields where other weeds may pop up.  Periodically the field is sprayed and the weeds are killed off, but the plants that are resistant to the chemical are left unharmed.  At harvest time there may be Roundup still on, or in, these plants.

The controversy is furthered when you receive conflicting arguments on how much Roundup is safe for consumption.  Some sources will give one number, the EPA allows another, and Monsanto gives yet another.  The bottom line is: do you want to be eating any Roundup at all?

Roundup can lead to a variety of illnesses and cancers.  Have you worked with this product and developed cancer (blood cancer is the most common)?  You need to let the world know that Roundup is not a safe product!  Your lawsuit can help spread the word about this dangerous chemical that is found in our food.

What Types of Cancer are Caused by Roundup?

Roundup has been used extensively since the 1970’s.  Some small farmers report using as much as 50-70 gallons every year.  With that kind of exposure, the question must be asked whether or not the chemical is dangerous.  It must also be asked what kind of cancer is caused by frequent exposure to Roundup.

Unfortunately, the authorities have been relatively silent on the matter.  There is currently no warning label required for Roundup (although the State of California has recently said they will seek a warning label).  But have studies shown that Roundup can lead to cancer?  The WHO said in 2015 that the chemical glyphosate was probably a human carcinogen, so what cancers does this cause?

Brain Cancer – Cancer of the brain is a relatively uncommon form of cancer.  However, there have been studies that show when one or both parents were exposed to Roundup during the 2 year period before a child’s birth the risk of being born with brain cancer is significantly higher.

Breast Cancer – There have been some studies that indicate exposure to glyphosate can lead to mammary tumors.  These studies were on animals, but the conditions are right for a human to develop cancer after prolonged exposure.

Lung Cancer – In the US Roundup isn’t as heavily used as in other countries with fewer regulations.  In South America, among the small farming communities, it has been found that cancers such as lung cancer, were 2 to 4 times higher than the national average.

Prostate Cancer – Prostate cancer is more prevalent in communities with high use of Roundup.

Blood Cancer – Blood cancer is a generalized term for a variety of cancers that primarily affect the blood.  These cancers include leukemia, and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (usually abbreviated NHL).  Studies show that Roundup can significantly increase the risk of this type of cancer.

Cancer, among those who are healthy and otherwise not exposed to dangerous chemicals, is said to be random.  However, there are drugs, chemicals, and other products that can increase the risk of developing different types of cancer.  Roundup is one of those chemicals that is strongly correlated to an elevated cancer risk.

Have you worked around Roundup and you have been diagnosed with cancer?  It wasn’t a chance occurrence!  You are now suffering physically, and you are forced to pay high medical bills, because you were never warned about the dangers of this chemical.  Give us a call at 1-800-305-6000 to speak with a Roundup attorney to determine if you have a case against Monsanto.

Was my Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Caused by Roundup?

Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, or NHL, is a type of cancer that begins in the lymph nodes.  This type of cancer affects what are known as lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.  Basically speaking, when you come down with NHL, your body has trouble with its immune system.

Those who have used, been around, or have been heavily exposed to Roundup are being diagnosed with this type of cancer much more often than those who haven’t been exposed.  But the problem runs even deeper than once believed.

For several decades the controversy has been around the issue of how harmful glyphosate is to the human body.  But recent studies suggest that it’s not just the active ingredient that is causing problems with people.  There are many other chemicals that make up the compound Roundup.  Many are listed as “inert” or having no effect.  These inert ingredients are being shown to have very harmful effects on humans.

If you have worked with Roundup extensively, then there is a good chance that your NHL was caused by your exposure to this dangerous weed killer manufactured by Monsanto.  And that means you should not have to suffer in silence!  You can file a lawsuit against Monsanto, and you may be entitled to significant compensation.  You are not to blame for your blood cancer, so why should you have to suffer and pay high medical bills?

If you have worked with Roundup, and you have been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, then our Roundup attorneys want to speak with you.  Call us today at 1-800-305-6000 to speak with an attorney and find out if you have a case.

Has Monsanto Acknowledged that Roundup Causes Cancer?

Monsanto has been providing chemicals for decades.  This company is a leader in many areas of the agriculture industry, and they supply products that work.  Many believe that they do this without regard to whether or not their products are safe, and they are putting profits above all else.  But has Monsanto admitted that their products may cause cancer?

The answer is no, they have not.  Despite the overwhelming evidence that those who have been exposed to Roundup are significantly more likely to develop cancer than those who have not, Monsanto’s official stance on the matter is:

“Glyphosate has a long history of safe use… Glyphosate, when used according to label directions, does not present unreasonable risk of adverse effects to humans, wildlife or the environment.” – Monsanto.com.

The problem lies in which studies you look at.  The IARC has found that this product has a strong probability of being a human carcinogen.  Monsanto looks at the results and immediately decides that they should be thrown out.

This is to be expected.  The company is trying to protect their profits by claiming there is no merit to these studies.  But the Roundup lawyers with Arentz Law know better.  We have studied glyphosate, Roundup, and the reports.  We have found that those who have been hurt by this product deserve justice!

Have you used Roundup and subsequently developed cancer?  Frequent exposure to this chemical can lead to some very serious health problems, and you shouldn’t have to battle those health issues alone!  Your lawsuit will help you receive compensation for your medical expenses, and it will raise awareness that this product is not safe!  Call us at 1-800-305-6000 for your free consultation.

I Worked with Roundup, am I at Risk of Cancer?

Many people that work with Roundup are at risk of developing cancer.  The issue, however, is it depends on the individual as to how much exposure will result in cancer.  Everybody is different, and some may not actually become sick from this product.

When you look at studies that use enough people, the overall consensus is clear: the more you handle Roundup, or specifically glyphosate, the greater your risk of developing cancer.  However, this doesn’t mean that you can safely use the product “just a little bit.”

Most people who have developed cancer from Roundup are suffering from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, or NHL.  This blood cancer starts in the lymph nodes and affects the body’s immune system.  Many of those that have been diagnosed with NHL have worked with glyphosate extensively.  However, there is always the possibility that using the product just a few times will result in cancer.

Monsanto, the company that manufactures Roundup, won’t admit that there is anything wrong with their product.  They maintain that if you use it correctly, it poses no risk or danger to you, or the environment.  This is despite the fact that there are numerous studies showing otherwise.

If you have worked with Roundup, then you should pay special attention to your health.  Your best chance of beating cancer is to detect it early enough that treatment can be highly effective.  If you have already been diagnosed with cancer, then you need to call us right away!  A Roundup attorney is ready to talk with you about your potential case that could help compensate you for medical bills, pain and suffering, and other expenses.  Call us at 1-800-305-6000.

Do Studies Show that Roundup Causes Cancer?

If you are wondering what the truth is about Roundup, don’t take our word for it!  Don’t take Monsanto’s word for it either.  Instead, look at what the studies say.  See if this product is dangerous or not.  You will likely find the same conclusion as just about everyone else other than Monsanto and their PR team.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) part of the World Health Organization, has deemed glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, to be a probable human carcinogen.

A study done by Hardell and Eriksson in the late 1990’s looked at the effect of herbicides and pesticides on the human body.  It stemmed from the report that NHL increased among those more heavily exposed.  The conclusion was that prolonged exposure did increase risk of cancer.

A study done in 2014 looked at the how Roundup, found in our food, would affect us.  The study looked at lab rats and analyzed how their health was affected over the course of 2 years.  The result was that the rats had serious health problems.

It’s not just NHL that is a problem.  The chemical structure in Roundup appears to affect other areas of the body harmfully as well.  A study from 2013 shows that exposure to glyphosate can result in breast cancer.

This list could continue on for pages and pages.  The result will be the same.  Roundup has been heavily studied for many years.  It has been the center of controversy, and it is not becoming the subject of lawsuits.  Those studies all show that the product is not as safe as the manufacturer wants you to believe, and if you have been hurt by it, you deserve compensation!  Call a Roundup attorney with Arentz Law today at 1-800-305-6000 to speak with a lawyer and see if you have a case.
