Zyban Birth Defects Lawyers

Studies have found a link between Zyban, a prescription smoking cessation drug, and life-threatening birth defects in babies. If you or someone you love took the drugs during pregnancy and your child suffered from birth defects, you may have a case. The American Journal of Obsetrics & Gynecology published an announcement that mothers taking Zyban during pregnancy have increased risk of giving birth to a child with heart birth defects, although many other birth defects may be at risk. The study showed that 3.6% of infants born to mothers who took Zyban during the first trimester had birth defects.

Zyban birth defects may include:

  • Left outflow heart defects
  • Coarctation of the aorta
  • Down’s syndrome
  • Undescended testes in males
