The Zilver PTX stent is a small, expandable tube made of metal mesh which is used to help prop an affected artery open. The stent is also coated with a drug called Paclitaxel, which is also beneficial in keeping the artery open.

An inner catheter then deploys the Zilver PTX stent into the artery.
